Every day should be a day to thank a veteran. Patriotism is always seen on Veterans Day and Memorial Day. Then the thank you stops until the next holiday. When I visit The American Legion Post 283 in Jacksonville, Florida I hug a veteran and say "Today is National Hug a Veteran Day". When I volunteer at the USO Airport Welcome Center, I say "This is all for you". When I raise the United States Flag at my place of work each and every morning, I silently thank a veteran, for if it were not for him or her, I might not have that right. So, every time you see a veteran thank them. It might make their day, and it will surely make yours.
Honor where Honor is deserved.
I take the time to shake hands and thank ALL wearing the uniform. I also thank vets everywhere for their service. It is a very small thing to do, but it is so greatly appreciated when you do it.
I agree, Every day should be a day to thank a veteran.
