WE ARE...   “THE RIDERS”

We see people roll their windows up when we pull up next to them at a red light.  They have no idea that we’re possibly in route to a ride that all the proceeds will  go to a single mother fighting breast cancer.  We see mothers pull their children closer to them as we walk up to the check out line at the grocery store dressed in our leathers.  It’s sad they have no idea were in route to a ride for a 15 year old with lupus.  We hear comments such as Scooter Scum, Low Lifers and Biker Bums.  When it’s those same so called Biker Bums greeting our troops at the airport to thank them and welcome them home.  We see their frustration when a police escort has their vehicle pull over for 30 minutes while 1,500 plus bikes pass by;  Sadly enough they have no idea we are riding for soldiers and their families for the Blue Star Salute.  They have stickers on their bumpers and radios blasting loud;  With no understanding at all that our passenger pegs are down in memory of a brother that was killed a few weeks back by someone who;  at the spur of the moment; didn’t see him coming.

I love the entry. It's just this simple: If you don't ride, you don't really know what it means.
Hang up & Drive

I see this sign more at road work areas. Maybe we should all get bumper stickers that say "Hang up the phone & Drive" or triple the fine of all traffic violations that involve a phone.

I just lost my brother, Ben Blewitt two years ago to a motorcycle accident. A an extremely skilled rider who raced dirtbikes, and quad's. He began riding when he was 6 years old. And died when he was 24 on his Harley Davidson Fatboy. We know and all the details point to someone running him off the road; however the state police will not review anything. There's a dent on his rear fender for God's sake. To drivers of cars - don't be jerks because you see a motorcycle on the road!!

Too many drivers are unaware of what is going on around them. Cell phones, makeup, shaving, singing, kids, movies, TV and eating all while driving?
