Our flag flew over the practice of slavery from the Revolutionary War 'til the Civil War. Many heroes died on both sides before we learned that freedom includes everyone. With over 26 years of active military duty, I served in foreign countries where many of the freedoms we take for granted, are not only not available but treated as criminal behavior.
