My wife and I were in Ste Mere Eglise a week or so before the celebrations this year (2009). I spoke with an old fellow (American) who said he had landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day and 25 years ago had finally relocated to Ste Mere Eglise to live, permanently. He said he was from New Hampshire but had never met anyone from NH who came to visit Ste Mere Eglise. He no doubt told me his name but I forgot it. Does anyone have a source for me as to where I could find out more about this?
