The American Legion likes the VA Hospital and TriCare programs. Both are federal programs, which if applied to civilians would be called Socialized Medicine. The members of the three branches of the federal government enjoy health care benefits above what ordinary people, including veterans enjoy, but they don't call it socialized medicine even though the taxpayers foot the bill. All of us s had good medical care during the service but we didn't consider that socialized. How is that different?
