This spring baseball fans will be able to root for the national pastime and support The American Legion's Heroes to Hometowns program at the same time. Legion family visitors and other fans who attend the Tampa Bay Rays vs. Boston Red Sox game at Tropicana Field on May 3 can have $4 of their ticket price donated to Heroes to Hometowns if purchased in advance.

The effort is spearheaded by Florida American Legion Districts 14, 15 and 16. To order tickets in The American Legion section, please contact Chris McCabe at (727) 479-2810 or by emailing chaplainpost14@yahoo.com. Legionnaires in central Florida can also purchase tickets at their local posts.

The Rays have designated the event as "American Legion Day." Heroes to Hometowns is a transitioning program for severely injured Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.
