The American Legion Legacy Run is a 1,200 mile fund raising motorcycle run from Indianapolis to Louisville, KY, August 18 - 21, 2009. The ride ends in Louisville, just in time for the 91st National Convention of the Indianapolis-based American Legion. More than 600 have registered for segments of the run, including 250 motorcycles starting in Indianapolis.
The American Legion Riders will leave Indianapolis on Tuesday, August 18 and travel through seven states, stopping only for promotional events and fund raising.
The goal is to raise $400,000 for the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund for children of military personnel who died on and after Sept. 11, 2001. Legion Riders from across the country are collecting funds to present to Commander Rehbein at each stop along the way.
